How each system works, and every command.
You need Manage Server on the Discord server you are adding Lunar to.
Lunar asks for a broad permission set because the systems span moderation, roles, and channels. You can restrict what it touches per feature once it is in, and every dashboard action is gated by its own permission.
You should not need to memorise commands to run a server.
Nothing writes the moment you click. A save bar appears once you have unsaved edits and holds them until you commit the lot, or throw them away.
Access control lets you grant specific permissions to roles or individual members, so a moderator can see infractions without touching your leveling curve.
Members earn XP for chatting and for sitting in voice. You decide how fast, how far, and where it counts.
Set how much XP a message is worth, the cooldown between counted messages, and how voice minutes convert. The curve controls how much harder each level gets.
Any channel can have a flat multiplier, on every plan. Set it to 0 to make a channel grant no XP at all, or above 1 to make it worth more. Premium adds tiers, where you set the thresholds yourself and the rate changes with time spent. Voice channels also support an alone multiplier.
Grant roles at the levels you choose. Rewards can stack or replace the previous one.
Analytics, tickets, temporary voice channels, counters, and fun commands.
Create panels with buttons or a dropdown, each opening a ticket in a category you define. Categories carry their own staff roles, colour, and intake questions. Transcripts are recorded live, so edits and deletes are captured as they happen.
Pick a voice channel to act as a lobby. Anyone who joins it is given a channel of their own and moved into it, and it goes away again when it empties. You decide what the channel is made with and which of the controls its owner is offered: renaming, a user limit, locking, hiding, permitting or denying one person, removing someone, handing it over, and deleting it. They never get Manage Channels, so nothing they do goes around the rules you set.
Channels whose names hold a number: all members, people, bots, whoever is online, anyone in voice, holders of one role, boosts and boost level, roles, channels, emoji, stickers, a member goal, or today's date in a time zone you pick. Lunar makes each one as a voice channel nobody can join, groups them in a category, and writes the name. You write the name yourself, with a placeholder for the number, so the wording and any emoji are yours. Discord allows a channel to be renamed twice every ten minutes, so the refresh has a floor of five minutes and a number that has not moved is not written again.

Write the message in your own words with placeholders for the member, the server, and the member count. Choose the channel it posts in.
Lunar compares the invite list before and after a join to work out which invite was used. When several change at once it records the join as ambiguous rather than guessing.
Moderation, automod, anti-nuke, and logging.
Thresholds that watch what privileged people do and how fast strangers arrive, and act without waiting for a human. A wire counts one kind of damage per person over a window: a role gaining a dangerous permission, channels or roles deleted, members banned or kicked, webhooks created, a bot added. Passing the threshold puts the change back where that is possible, takes the person's roles off, or bans them, whichever you set. The roles are written down so you can hand them back in one press.
Alongside the wires, a raid rule watches the join rate and drops the server into a lockdown that lifts itself, and a gate turns away accounts younger than you allow. The server owner is never acted on, and neither is anyone on the exempt list.
Warns, timeouts, kicks, and bans are all recorded as cases with a code, a reason, and full history per member. The member is sent a notice before a removal lands, with an appeal link if you have configured one.
Automod matches keywords and regex patterns. Spam detection watches message rate, duplicates, and mass mentions over a sliding window. Both honour exempt roles.
Message edits and deletes, joins and leaves, role and channel changes, voice activity. Deleted message content is recoverable because it is cached as it arrives.
Optional, per server. Your browser makes a keypair, the server keeps only the public half, and every log entry is sealed with it. Decryption happens in your browser after a password, so the log contents are unreadable to anyone running Lunar. Metadata stays in the clear so filtering and automod escalation still work. The keys are sealed with post-quantum cryptography as well as conventional, so logs sealed today stay unreadable even to someone who keeps a copy of the database until quantum computers arrive.
Self-serve role menus and conditional roles that keep themselves in sync.
Post a menu and let members pick their own roles, or point one at a message you already wrote and Lunar adds the reactions to it and listens, without ever touching your words. Modes: toggle, unique (one at a time), verify, or add-only. A selection can require other roles first, the server booster role included.
Pick roles that everyone receives the moment they join. Useful for a default member role, or for gating channels behind something every member holds.
Grant a role only to members who hold a role you require. When they lose the requirement, Lunar removes the granted role automatically. It re-checks on every role change, not only when the member first qualifies.

Every feature has its own view and edit permission. Grant them to roles or to individual members, so someone can read infractions without being able to issue them.
Dashboard access follows Discord. If a role is taken from someone, their access updates within seconds rather than lasting until they log out.
